Under the Sun Events
owns and manages many of Northern California's best 5K, 10K, and Quarter
Marathon runs and walks. In 2008 Under The Sun Events was proud to manage
events that had an incredible impact on the health and vitality of our
community. Some of our favorite statistics include the following:
- 11 Races
- 1,985 participants
- 14,490 Kilometers (8,694 miles) covered by participants
- 782,460 calories burned by participants
- $8,400 in donations to local and national charities
 The
34th Annual Bidwell Classic is Chico's signature event. This
5K and Half Marathon always takes place the first Saturday in March
in Lower Bidwell Park. Under the Sun Events is proud to manage this
great race for the Chico Running Club.
Experience the beauty and tranquility of a Trail Less Traveled.
Hidden in the foothills around Lake Oroville, the Kelly Ridge and Dan
Beebe trails offer miles of twisting terrain to challenge runners of
all levels and test seasoned trails fans. This 5K and Quarter Marathon
always takes place the first Sunday in April.
 The
City of Gold Triathlon is a sprint triathlon at beautiful Lake
Oroville in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The event
is held in May and is open to men, women, boys and girls of all ages
and accepts both individual and two- or three-person relay teams. Because
of its dramatic scenery and undulating terrain, the City of Gold is
well known for being one of the most beautiful and challenging sprint
triathlons in California.
 The
Dam Fast 5K helps you track your progress against the clock over
a series of four no-frills events at the Lake Oroville Dam, One Mile
in Bidwell Park & Discovery Bay. You provide the sweat, we provide
the water! This series happens on a monthly schedule over the summer

for dates and times for each location). The Dam Fast night runs cost
just $10 and are a great way to track your progess over the summer.

The Salmon Run is quickly becoming one of Oroville's premier
family events. Join us at River Bend Park for a quick 5K, a beautiful
10K, or the Free Kids 1/2-mile Fun Run along the scenic Feather River.
This event happens the fourth Saturday of September as part of the Salmon
Festival.
Under the Sun Events is pleased to manage this event for the Chico Running
Club for 2010. Please join us for the 36th Annual Almond
Bowl 5K and 10K events. A portion of the proceeds benefit the cross-country
teams for our local high schools.
 The
Frost or Fog is a brisk 1/4 Marathon and 5K in Upper Bidwell
Park at 5-Mile Recreation Area. The event is sanctioned by USATF and
is scheduled for Saturday, January 16. Each participant will receive
a long sleeve t-shirt and goodie bag.
Triathlon is
coming to Discovery Bay! Calm Delta waters welcome athletes of all levels
for .75 mile swim to be followed by a 20-mile, two lap bike course through
the neighborhoods of Discovery Bay. Finish your race with a four-mile
run on the levee, with Delta waterways on one side and lush farmland
on the other.
